The slowdown in Regina's residential real estate market continued throughout the first quarter as sales were down in each of the first 3 months of the year compared with the same period in 2013.
In March, 273 homes were sold in the Regina area, down from 286 during the same period last year. It was also the lowest number of sales in any March since 2006.
The average sales price in the Regina was $340,728, mainly because of 4 sale that were sold for $860,000 to $1,1150.000. These increases are entirely attributable to a shift to higher-priced homes in the sales mix and are not indicative of increases in value of properties.
In Regina there were 1,062 properties were listed for sale, an increase of 46 per cent from last year's 728 - the highest number of homes for sale at the end of the first quarter in the last 10 years.
As we enter what is typically the busiest period of the year in the April-June time period, this will provide great choice and selection to buyers in most price ranges and locations.
