Saskatoon was ranked 17th overall, with a median rent of $870 per month for a one-bedroom apartment, up 2.3 per cent from the previous month, while two-bedroom suites remained flat at $1,100 per month. 


Edmonton ranked sixth, with median rent of $1,010 per month for a one-bedroom apartment, up 3.1 per cent from May, while two-bedrooms were up 1.6 per cent to $1,250. Montreal ranked eighth overall with a median rent for one-bedroom apartments of $960, while two-bedroom apartments were renting for $1,250.


Halifax ranked 11th overall with a median rent of $910 for one bedrooms, while two-bedroom units were renting for $1,100. Winnipeg was 15th overall, with median rent of $880 for one-bedrooms and $1,100 for two-bedrooms.


PadMapper analyzes rental data from thousands of active listings across the country, which are aggregated monthly to calculate median asking rents for the 25 most-populous cities in Canada.
